out from the main road, a km and a half in to the woods is situated this property, with a french name. there are two approach roads for it, one opening near auro beach and other on to main road. very hospitable property and its custodians.

Good hotel but little interior

The hotel is good , neat , clean with kitchen area but it is little interior from the auroville main road. one can go only through car/bike.Worth for money. No restaurant inside. But overall good to stay for the money you provide.

This place is located about 1.5kms from aurovile bus stop, you need to ride through a patchy road to get here. we had booked this place for one night but extended jt by two more nights as we found this place to be nice, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. we stayed in the ground floor for the first two nights . the rooms are quite large and cozy. the caretaker was pretty helpful and shared all the relevant information with us as tourists. the third night was in a small room on the terrace, which has a great view . I would recommend this room for solo travellers who are on a tight budget. a few downsides of this place: you need a 2 wheeler to commute from this place ( the auto ride can be overpriced) it will really help to have a kitchen that guests can access. they don't have enough stock of cutlery , incase you need it, which is funny. wi-fi access is poor in most rooms.

short or long stay, just awesome!! Nature friendly, full of serenity, nice care taker and very friendly owner. Stayed 3 days and 2 nights and had really nice time. Accessible to all the famous spots easily. Roam around the place and you will have peace.

Well, we were just regular travellers like any other, no bookings, no plans, not charted pinned places to visit. Just booked too and fro tickets out of Pondicherry. So we had our share of experiences where everyone treats you like tourists with money and just want that out of your wallet and doesn't care what kind of experience you are taking back. La Ciel was absolutely opposite of what I just said, there was this gentleman Mr. Balachandran R, such people restore my faith that there are many good people out there who just wants you to enjoy while you are there and know each other as a human being. We just found random phone no on internet and as we were in rush of leaving where we first check in, we took a chance and we were lucky. Because they made our stay memorable. This place costed us very little, very clean, upto date and uncle guided us to make us all plan. He made sure we found two wheeler ready at his doorstep so that we can roam around easily. On day 1 he also provided us 1 day auto rickshaw as we already had wasted our half day from moving 1 place to another. He suggested us Chidambaram temple, Pichawaram and other places in Pondicherry to visit. He was so informative, and helping even when we called him at midnight when we lost our way back :) He provided us car to return to chennai. And mind you, NOTHING WAS mentioned on his home stay package , he just did this out of goodness of his heart and he wanted us to remember Pondicherry as a place to visit frequently. So here you go when you are travelling solo, with girls gang, family or business and planning to stay in service apt or just a room with kitchen even though you don't use it. This is a beautiful place surrounded by cashew farms and jungle. An experience to have it.
